This is a computer based test; even the speaking test is conducted through the computer.

There are two versions of this test: CELPIP-General, and CELPIP-General LS. CELPIP-General is designed for those who need to prove their English-language skills for immigration to Canada under the Federal Skilled Trades Program, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Start-up Visa Program, and various Provincial Nominee Programs, or for employment reasons. This test assesses all four language skills (reading, speaking, listening and writing) of the candidates. CELPIP-General LS test is designed for those who need to prove their listening and speaking skills to apply for Canadian citizenship. Therefore, this test specifically assesses the listening and speaking skills of the candidates.
