Unfortunately, Srinagar does not have a railway station of its own. You have to take a train from Delhi and go up to Jammu. From Jammu, you can take a bus ride or a taxi to reach Srinagar. The distance between Jammu and Srinagar is only 290km. Taxis charge nearly Rupees 6000 for a round trip from Jammu while you can cover this distance by a bus for only Rupees 400. Bus journey from Jammu to Srinagar takes up nearly 12 hours. Jammutawi Express (train number 11449) takes around 12 hours to reach Jammu from Delhi. It departs from Delhi at 12:10 AM and reaches Jammu at 1PM.

The distance between Delhi and Srinagar by road is 876km. You can take a bus from Delhi that takes around 14 hours to reach Srinagar bus station that is situated at a distance of 12km from the city.

You can also reach Srinagar by taking a taxi from Delhi. It is a comfortable and fast 12-hour journey.
